Julie Morris is a watercolour artist based in South Lanarkshire and has a strong familial connection with the Scottish borders. She began painting full-time, in 1993 and focuses on landscapes and historic architecture. Julie paints on handmade paper designed for watercolours, as the texture is more interesting for her work. She also uses paints that include genuine stone in the pigments, such as tiger’s eye, blood stone and hematite. Gold leaf and pieces of old maps also feature within her landscapes.
