“Bob Black studied drawing and painting at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art 1974-1978 and after graduating worked in the textile and other industries until 2016 when he became a full time painter.
In the last five years he has travelled extensively and this is reflected in his work, most visibly in his Favela paintings from Rio de Janeiro.
Bob has a studio in Aberdeen and is influenced by the Scottish Colourists (especially Peploe), the Post Impressionists and the Fauves, whose colourful work he finds truly inspirational.”
