Inspired by a neighbour / artist Colin Gibson, Jim painted mainly landscapes using oils. This led him to be accepted by Grey's School of Art Aberdeen in 1996. He left Art School after his first year to follow a calling to become a tatoo artist, althouhgh he never gave up his desire to paint.
His work has seen a shift to figurative painting with an increasing focus on decorative work in the figures. Jim is always pushing his work to become more detailed.
Jim has recently started to exhibit his work and hopes this will be a gateway to furthering his education in the Arts.
